Peoria Promise allowed me the ability to start my academic career, and explore topics and courses that would be useful for my future. I always felt supported in pursuing my dreams with Peoria Promise. Now, I have a Master’s degree, am finishing my second Master’s, and am beginning the process of applying for doctoral programs. I work as the Assistant Director of the Illinois Higher Education Center, and have a strong passion for diversity and inclusion in higher education. I know for a fact, I would not be where I am today if I had not been a Peoria Promise recipient.
